This bridge is located in Virginia. Each tunnle is 1 mile long.

That is a man made island!!!

The total span of the bridge is 17.6 miles long!!!
Beam bridges are very simple to build. That is probably the reason why they are the most common type of bridge... well at least in the U.S. They are also the least expensive of all 4 kinds of bridges!
